Healthy Aging & Yoga Therapy Class Series Starts Mon Jan 23
Gather with local yoga practitioners AJ Connors and Will Sechrist for a series of evidence based healthy aging and yoga therapy classes at the Pagosa Senior Center geared for adults and older adults of all ages. We will gather on Monday afternoons mid January through the middle of February, don’t forget to bring your mat and wear comfortable clothing, and come learn and share about the theory and practice of the ancient science of ayurveda.  These classes are donation based and open to all. Please RSVP via text or call to 970-264-2167.

Week 1: Yoga for Healthy Aging.
  • General overview of therapeutic applications of yoga
  • Practices include introductory/basics of movement (asana), breathing (pranayama), & meditation (dharana)
  • Affirmation, mudra, yoga nidra
Week 2: Yoga for Resilience
  • Physical body focus for pain and muscle degradation (anandamaya kosha) 
  • Gentle movement and stillness (asana & sthira sukham)
  • Affirmation, mudra, yoga nidra (w/ tensing & releasing)
Week 3: Yoga for Vitality
  • Heart health and yoga (pranamaya kosha)
  • Gentle movement & breath practices (asana & pranayama)
  • Affirmation, mudra, meditation
Week 4: Yoga for Emotional Wellness
  • Gunas and kleshas for mental health and wisdom body (manomaya & vijyanama kosha)
  • Gentle movement & breath practices (asana & pranayama)
  • Discussion on self-care and home practice

  • Our dedicated kitchen staff work to ensure that our nutrition programs are serving enjoyable, high-quality meals and snacks for 60 and better customers and the community as a whole.
  • We provide dine-in and drive-thru pickup options, as well as County bus delivery for Congregate Meals.
  • Meals on Wheels delivers to the community five days a week.
